An Introduction to Grappling:
Basic Techniques from Folkstyle Wrestling

This workshop is suitable for martial artists of all styles and
experience levels who want to learn basic but effective grappling techniques.
Strategy and principals as well as skills will be covered. Both standing and
ground techniques such as takedowns, riding, controlling and countering will be
taught..
Some of the skills that will be practiced are the duck under, arm drag, single
and double arm bar, chicken wing, ankle pick, single and double leg takedown,
heel trip, cross-face, whizzer and sprawl.
This workshop will involve hands-on partner drills and practice. No special gear
is required and participants may wear their usual training uniforms or a t-shirt
with sweat pants or shorts.
